An idea born on the backroads of the prairies.
When you spend hours outside in the farm fields of Manitoba and the ranchlands of Alberta, your thoughts tend to wander.
But, our thoughts have always come back to the buildings on the farms and ranches — historic, well-used, and often, well-loved.
We had one of those thoughts you can’t get rid of.
How can we preserve the intact buildings and if we can’t, how can we prevent these materials from being sent to the landfill or burned?
That was 13 years ago.
Today, husband and wife team, Michael and Michelle run Salvage Solutions from Pincher Creek in Southern Alberta.
While we’re known for building deconstruction and reclaimed material recovery, we also offer a few other services for landowners trying to answer the question, “what do I do with this old building?”
Antique Building Audits
If you have an aging building on your property and you aren’t too sure what to do with it, we’re here to help. Give us a call for a quote which includes a visit to your property to provide an audit to determine the value of your building’s materials.
Restoration and Refurbishment
Not all buildings need to be deconstructed. If we can extend the life of your building, we can not only divert more waste from the landfill, we can maintain its historic look by using reclaimed materials from other projects.
We’re very proud of diverting all this amazing material from the landfill. First-growth Douglas fir — it’s material that isn’t made anymore.
And even if you’re not nostalgic, these reclaimed building materials are high-quality and a great addition to any home or commercial project.
Not only are these pieces stronger than standard lumber, but they also have less embodied carbon. Many of our business clients use reclaimed wood in their building projects as part of the LEED Certification.
